kVArCorrect manufacture a simple solution for in-the-field power factor correction - the EasyMount. This small, weatherproof, all-in-one 3-phase power factor correction unit is wired directly into the motor, and can be mounted straight onto a fencepost, wall stud, or even the motor frame. Available up to 4.5kVAr.
Through kVArCorrect, Toptech is able to be extremely selective about which Power Quality Capacitors to supply. We are the Australasian agent for the premium KBR range of Germany, and we are able to supply other brands as well.

kVArCorrect has developed a reputation in New Zealand for designing and manufacturing Neutral Earth Resistors for applications up to and including 220kV grid exit points. Toptech is able to extend this capability into Australia, with various options for transport and/or assembly.
These NERs are available for outdoor use in Stainless Steel, complete with Seismic Qualification Identification Plate with reports to IEEE693-2005. |

We would recommend ISKRA capacitors in certain motor start applications, and these capacitors are physically larger than the standard start capacitors. Toptech has access to specialty lighting capacitors such as those used in stadium lighting situations and hi-bay lighting towers in general, both in quantity and singly. The correct choice of capacitor for many situations may appear simple but if there is any doubt as to the suitability (or not) of a particular capacitor for a particular installation, it is almost guaranteed that the experienced engineers at kVArCorrect can recommend the correct solution. This may be from one of our preferred power quality capacitor suppliers, as detailed below; from our preferred motor run capacitors supplier, ELCO; or from another brand to better suit the situation.

Busway Systems
The merging of Linkk Busway Systems of Malaysia with Megaduct busduct trunking systems has provided incredible flexibility in the solutions available. Since 1992, Megaduct have been designing and manufacturing the Lego-like alternative to cables that is busway. With products used in many projects in Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, and across the world, the Kuala Lumpur based Megaduct factory has the utmost of testing facilities, quality assurance procedures, production processes, and design methods. All Megaduct Busway Systems are light weight, low impedance, non-ventilated, naturally cooled, and totally enclosed within the steel or aluminium housing. Advantages of using Megaduct busway:

Megaduct has the option of using highly conductive Copper as a core material, or the more affordable option of Aluminium. Because of their material selection, design methods, and manufacturing processes, using Aluminium still provides excellent conductivity suitable for a busduct system.
✓ Copper bar with high purity for high conductivity >99.95% ✓ Aluminium bar with low impedance and high conductivity >61% Whilst Megaduct favours Epoxy as an insulator, they also produce other options in their systems. The Epoxy is applied to the conductor bar as a coating, in a special process that is unique to Megaduct. The factory employs a 100% test rate on the coating quality, and any failure to this stringent test means the entire bar is rejected. With these strict quality procedures and the costly consequences of a failure, it follows that this Megaduct process is highly accurate and effective - there are very few failures.

Features of their one-bolt-bridge joints include:
✓ One Bolt Bridge Joint System - simple! ✓ Incredibly easy installation and removal of any joint without disturbing adjacent busduct sections ✓ Tolerance of 5mm thermal expansion/movement at every joint ✓ Allows +/- 15mm of lateral adjustment (corrects any issues with site measurement inaccuracy) ✓ Tilt angles of +/- 5⁰ ✓ Bolts/Nuts available in stainless steel, galvanised or chromed black high tensile steel ✓ DMC/SMC insulation plates to enhance water/chemical resistance ✓ Optional shear off twin headed bolts to required torque of 70Nm Tap-Off Units, or Plug-In Units, are the points at which the busway system branches off to allow the user to access the power. These can have non-fused circuit breakers (MCCB) or fused-switch breakers, of various current ratings. In a three metre length of two faced busduct, there can be up to five tap-off units per face, depending on the size of the MCCBs. These units are all safety interlocked to not only prevent active device removal, but also shut the MCCB down when the unit's door/cover is open.

Arguably the biggest cause of failure of non-LED commercial/industrial lights is capacitor failure. Indeed, using the incorrect capacitor, even if it is the one originally purchased with the fitting, can be a huge safety risk through fire and even explosion. Specialty lighting capacitors such as those used in stadium lighting situations and hi-bay lighting towers in general can be recommended through Toptech's connection with kVArCorrect.
In addition to this, Toptech carries the experience of working in the Australasian Emergency Lighting industry for a number of years, being knowledgeable about exits, emergencies, lighting layouts, LED lighting in general, DALI control, and other monitoring systems. Toptech has been involved in writing, amending, advising on, and responding to tender documentation and project specifications across the Electrical industry in both Australia and New Zealand for many years. Combining Toptech's history with electrical documentation with Megaduct's team of design engineers, we are able to advise on a busway systems. The Megaduct installation is relatively quick and easy, but there will be Toptech engineers available throughout installation and commissioning. This is because there are a number of critical measurements and decisions that need to be monitored.
